yumedyne is an independent multidisciplinary art practice based in Huntsville, Alabama.
The work moves between paintings, clothing, prints, objects, and whatever else a particular idea seems to require. The boundaries between art, design, fashion, and merchandise are treated less as rules than as material to work with.
At its center, yumedyne is concerned with power: who has it, who doesn't, what we do to justify its use, and the systems we build to make violence, exploitation, and inequality feel ordinary. Recurring subjects include American militarism, capitalism, gender, bodily autonomy, religion, grief, identity, and the moral binaries we use to make an incomprehensible world feel manageable.
The imagery comes from everywhere—historical photographs, religious iconography, literature, advertisements, album covers, movies, bootlegs, corporate logos, internet detritus, and personal experience. These images are treated as material: copied, degraded, obscured, stitched together, painted over, reproduced, or placed beside something they were never intended to encounter.
That approach extends to the physical construction of the work. Painting, screen printing, embroidery, cyanotype, spray paint, resin, found and thrifted clothing, and other processes are used without much concern for whether they traditionally belong together. Evidence of the process is allowed to remain. Wear, repetition, distortion, mistakes, and deterioration can become part of an object's history rather than something to be concealed.
Much of the work begins with contradiction: beauty and violence, sincerity and irony, sacred and profane, attraction and disgust, participation and resistance. yumedyne occupies the uncomfortable space where opposing ideas can both be true, resisting the temptation to resolve that tension into an easy answer.
yumedyne isn't an attempt to construct a lifestyle brand around an artist. It's a place for things that feel necessary to make. Some hang on walls. Some are worn on bodies. Some are inexpensive and reproduced; others exist only once.
The form can change. The intent is the throughline.

Is your clothing machine washable?
Yes, I work hard to ensure every piece of clothing I make can stand up to the washing machine. However, I strongly encourage washing by hand or using the "Delicates" setting on your washing machine with a mild detergent. Is your clothing safe to put in the dryer?
Only if you tumble dry on low. Dryers damage clothing more than the washing machine, so I strongly encourage air drying if possible. Are your pieces ever restocked?
Prints and stickers are often restocked. Small-batch pieces are never restocked, but variants may appear in the future. One-of-one pieces, such as paintings or artwear, are never duplicated or restocked. Are your works hand-made or outsourced?
All paintings, artwork, clothing, and sculptures are hand-made by me from start to finish. For small-batch runs of clothing, such as tees and hoodies, I use blanks from Los Angeles Apparel or Everybody.World, but I do all the screen printing, sewing, dyeing, and painting. Stickers and prints are outsourced to Sticker App and The Stackhouse, respectively.Do you offer gift wrapping?
Not currently. What kind of prints do you offer?
Giclée prints, which are museum quality.Do your prints come framed?
Not currently. Are your stickers good for outdoor and indoor use?
Yes, my stickers are good for outdoor and indoor use. Stickers people have put on their car are still going strong after 5 years in Alabama weather...which is saying something! Is "yumedyne" a collective?
No, yumedyne is me - that is, one person (and my creative director). I occasionally collaborate with other artists, but unless specified, everything with the yumedyne name has been made by me.
